Tawingo College is a small, co-ed independent day school located in Huntsville, Ontario offering classes from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 8.
Tawingo College students spend a lot of their time outside. Our campus spans the entire 270 acres of Camp Tawingo with access to all of its facilities. Students enjoy swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and sailing on the beautiful shores of Lake Vernon, hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing on our extensive trails and playing on the sports fields and recreational courts.
When they come inside, our 10,000 square foot academic building, Laughton Hall, is warm and welcoming. Each classroom is spacious, suffused with natural light and equipped with modern classroom facilities that have been set up for both formal academic and innovative learning. The spectacular setting creates an environment of calm where learning happens naturally.
Class sizes at Tawingo College are deliberately small so that our teachers can focus on fostering the unique strengths of every single student. There are many activities throughout the year where the entire school participates, giving our students a true appreciation for being part of a team. All of our students, from every grade, spend time playing, working and reading together, creating natural leadership opportunities.
Our Outdoor Kindergarten program includes children ages 3 – 5 years of age and runs all day, five days a week. Children in this program spend most of every day outside!
